What is onychomycosis?
Onychomycosis is a fungal infection of the nails. It can affect part of the nail, the whole nail or even many nails together. It is contagious and occurs on toenails more often than fingernails. The organisms that cause this infection are non-dermatophytid bacteria, dermatophytes, and Candida Albicans.
